Did you know your oral health is linked to your overall health? Well, it’s true. This means dental conditions, especially dental diseases, can affect your entire body and cause consequences you wouldn’t even think of. This is why our dentist, Dr. Bertha Bravo, strongly encourages you to keep your smile and oral health in tip-top shape. So, please do your best to maintain healthy and strong teeth by using our dental team’s tips, which are:

No. 1: Properly brush your teeth. This means you need to brush twice a day for two minutes each time. Take your time as you brush and make sure you thoroughly scrub each tooth. As you brush, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste that have been approved by the American Dental Association. These tools are safe and effective for your smile.

No. 2: Properly floss your teeth. This means you need to use a flossing product of your choice (that has been approved by the ADA) and floss the crevices of your smile at least once a day. Make sure you remove the plaque and bacteria that reside between the teeth because if you don’t, you could suffer cavities in the crack. As you floss, make sure to be gentle on the gums.

No. 3: Have a healthy and balanced diet. This means you need to avoid tooth-harming foods and drinks as much as possible, like sugary and acidic foods and drinks. These things attack the tooth enamel, wear it down, and threaten to create cavities. It’s best to eat and drink things like fruits, vegetables, dairy products, and water.
