If you have a severely infected or decayed tooth and root that can’t be fixed with a dental filling, or if you have a severely damaged tooth and root from other causes, your dentist, Dr. Bertha Bravo, might recommend a root canal treatment. This treatment is very beneficial and it is generally used when you experience one or more of the following symptoms:

-A severe toothache (The tooth pain is typically so bad that you cannot apply pressure to the tooth, which means you cannot use it)
-Infection in the nearby gums (Usually, the infection will appear as a recurring pimple on the gums)
-Tooth sensitivity to hot and cold temperatures (The sensitivity should be consistent)
-Tooth discoloration (The tooth will likely get darker in color)
-Swelling in the nearby gums (The gums will be inflamed and puffier than usual)
-Tenderness in the surrounding gums (The gums will be sore to the touch)
